I always knew I wanted to be a mommy. That calling gave me a deep love for children—and an awareness that behavior is rarely the whole story.
I’ve been a stay-at-home mom since my oldest was born, and I began homeschooling shortly after my youngest arrived. Like many parents, I’ve spent years navigating big feelings, hard behaviors, and the heart questions that come with raising children. I wanted better tools—stories that could help me teach difficult topics gently, truthfully, and in ways my children could actually understand.
That need is what led me to writing and publishing my own children’s books.
My kids inspired the topics I write about. My education gave me the skills to write them well. I studied both Early Childhood Development and English, which allows me to look beyond surface behaviors and address what’s happening in a child’s heart—through developmentally appropriate, thoughtfully written stories.
As a young adult, I never imagined I’d become a children’s author. My writing back then was developmentally appropriate for me…But looking back, it makes perfect sense. Stories help us bridge the gap between our own experiences and connecting with others, something children instinctively understand.
Today, as a homeschool mom, small business owner, and independent children’s book author, I create literature that helps parents teach hard heart topics—faith, character, emotions, forgiveness, and growth—through meaningful stories rather than lectures.
Here on the blog, I share about homeschooling life, creativity, faith, and the journey of building a children’s book business rooted in purpose and with a touch of whimsy thrown in.
