Kids retain more information when they engage with the content, both repetitively and in hands on ways. This is the first reason worksheets where invented. Since that great beginning, worksheets have turned into a tool teacher’s use to track a child’s understanding of material. That is NOT what these are about. I’m taking things back to their origin.
These activity worksheets are meant to help a child engage with the characters of my books in ways that help them remember the characters and remember the concepts of the books on a deeper level.
Disney and PBS both understand this concept and that is why they have so many different ways for kids to engage with their character’s. from website’s to coloring books, to toys all designed to help a child remember them. I’m not a big company, but I can see when a concept works!
Let’s make these printables something kids look forward to doing. Use them during quiet time, while reading out loud to them, to encourage them. Have fun with it.
