March Craft Month Challenge

March is craft month, what better time to start a craft month challenge! Now it’s important to remember you can do as many or as few as you want, just make it fun! This is a great idea to include in your child’s school day too. Crafting shouldn’t be just about special occasions, it’s about creative thinking, and skill building.

Whether you’re a naturally crafty person yourself or not, choose a mix of things that are easy and build confidence and things that will challenge your, but understand it is okay to not finish if your child gets frustrated. Crafting with your kids is a fun and engaging way to bond with them while encouraging their creativity and imagination. Here are some ideas to get you prepped:

1. Create a craft station: Designate a space in your home where your children can easily access all the craft supplies, they need, such as colored papers, paints, crayons, scissors, glue, etc. This will encourage them to use their imagination and create things whenever they want.
2. Provide a daily craft challenge: You can find a free printable Craft Challenge Calendar in my Free Resource Page, or you can create your own. For example, the list of craft challenges would be things like making a paper airplane, making a 3D card or making a wind chime. This will help your kids to have something new and exciting to do every day.
3. Recycle and repurpose: Encourage your children to repurpose and recycle materials they have around the house, such as toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, and old magazines. This will teach them to be resourceful and creative. In your craft space have a box or crate to put things recycled items.
4. Collaborate on a big project: Choose a big project to work on as a family, such as building a birdhouse or a fairy garden. This will give your kids a sense of accomplishment and pride when they see the finished product.
5. Host a craft party: Invite a few friends over that enjoy crafting, crafting is always more fun in a group.

Remember to keep the focus on having fun and enjoying the creative process, rather than on making perfect finished products. Making March a craft month with your kids is a great way to bond with them, and to encourage their creativity and imagination.
