Middle Grade Series

- Escaping Gardenia
- Saving Gardenia
- Restoring Gardenia – Coming Next
The First of the Gemstone Dragons Series revolves around the Kingdom of Gardenia and the first Gemstone Dragon Bubbles the bubble blowing dragon. Bubbles hatches from a raw Citrine, future dragons hatch from varies other gemstones. Yes, this is a crossover from my picture book series. I just wasn’t ready to let Bubbles go, so I wrote his hatching story. In addition to learning the origin of Bubbles, kids also learn life lessons about trust and the damage secrets cause to friendships. Don’t let the serious topic worry you, it is a fun and engaging story that will entertain children from age 7+.
New Covers Now available. Same story, just a fresh new cover, and black and white illustrations for the print versions.
The Old Covers will remain available on my website for a limited time.
Escaping Gardenia

Friendships are forged in the most unlikely of places.
From a kingdom at war with dragons, Ivy is sent to scout out a path to safety. Along the way she learns about magic and accidentally hatches a baby dragon.
Safety is the next kingdom over. Vlad, a gamekeepers apprentice, joins in the effort to help the refugees. His only intent is to help as many people find safety as he can.
Making new friends was the last thing either of them expected. Can they get Ivy’s village to safety and learn to trust each other? Or will they learn to late that even a well-meaning secret can have big consequences?
Saving Gardenia

Ivy, a baker’s daughter, finds that the new life in Ensourcium doesn’t offer the new start she had hoped for. Maybe it’s her? She just isn’t adjusting to life as ‘normal’. Maybe it’s the baby dragon that’s adopted her? The dragon is definitely causing tension at home. As for friends, well that’s a whole different set of complications.
A complication in the form of a prince who doesn’t act like a Prince.
Prince Vlad isn’t finding home to be the warm welcoming place the word ‘home’ might bring to mind. He’s now the only heir to the throne, with no experience or training for that role. Its a job he doesn’t want. Add to that how badly he has messed up his friendship with Ivy and well, he jumps at the chance to go back out into the woods and just be Vlad again. He has no problem leaving the title behind. There will be plenty of time to learn how to run the kingdom after his parents come to grips with his brother exiling himself.
Back at the border, forces of magic seem to have other ideas.
