Patience is a Matter of the Heart

One thing that is clear to anyone that loves children and also loves animals, they both need an abundance of patience. Meme’s and prayers abound on this topic alone. What I want to suggest is that patience, attitude, and behavior(what causes our need for patience) all stem from the same source. A need to connect, a matter of the heart.

I’m not trying to judge anyone, if you feel judged…examine your heart on this as well. Equestrians, dog trainers, animal lovers everywhere will tell you that animals can sense something more than just outward appearance. Its more than tone, I call it heart. If you are with them, they want to be the center of your world, because you become the center of theirs. Children are exactly the same. They want to be the center of your world. Grant them more calm patient attention and who knows what will happen.

Every child is different, and I don’t have a fancy degree, but I challenge you to be patient, focus, and slow down. Then teach your child to do the same.

The Little Donkey

Every book I write has a message. In, The Little Donkey I explore the concept of offering calm patient attention in place in place of loud, or harsh words. The intent is to teach kids that being patient and calm with an animal is the best approach.
