These beachy themed templates are a fun jumping off point for your child’s crativity!
🧵 What You’ll Need:
- A small wooden or foam board (8×10 inches)
- Small nails (wire or finishing nails) for wood, or small pins for foam
- A hammer (for nails)
- Embroidery thread or yarn in ocean colors- blues, greens, pinks, purples
- Simple Seashell or Beach themed outline (draw your own or download the free patterns!)
- Optional: craft paint, glitter, seashell stickers
🌊 How to Make It:
1. Paint Your Board (Optional)
Choose a sea-inspired color like aqua, lavender, or sandy beige. Let it dry completely.
2. Add the Template
Tape the mermaid tail pattern to the board and lightly mark where to place each nail—about ½ inch apart.
3. Hammer Time
With supervision, help your child gently hammer nails around the outline. Be sure to leave about ⅓ of each nail exposed.
4. Remove the Template
Carefully tear away the paper, leaving the nail outline in place.
5. String It Up!
Tie your thread to one nail and begin weaving! Criss-cross the shape, experiment with colors, and let your child’s creativity shine. When done, tie off the string and trim any extra.
Optional: Add embellishments—shells, glitter glue, or even “bubble” dots made with paint or markers.
