✂️ What You’ll Need:

  • 1 yellow paper plate
  • color printer and cardstock
  • orange pipecleaner
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Optional: feathers, glitter, crayons or markers for decorating

🐔 How to Make a Little Paper Plate Chicken

1. Fold the Plate

Fold the paper plate in half to make the hen’s body. It’ll stand up on its own like a little paper pet!

2. Cut out the both sides of the head

Cut out both sides of the head and glue them to one side of plate, and line them up to each other.

3. Glue on Eyes

Add googly eyes above the beak—or draw your own with a marker.

4. Glue on wings

Glue the wings on each side.

5. Add the feet

Cut the pipe cleaner in half , the fold each in half again, and form three toes, twist and bend to make feet. Staple into place at the bottom curve of the plate, As in the picture.

6. Decorate the Hen

Use markers, crayons, or glued-on scraps of paper to add feathers. Want a golden hen? Try gold glitter or yellow feathers to match the book!
