🌿 Why Make a Sloth and Snail Craft?
We love fast-paced fun as much as anyone, but sometimes kids need a reminder that slow isn’t boring—it’s beautiful. Sloths and snails may not win races, but they are experts at patience, peace, and noticing the little things. This craft gives your child a chance to slow down, use their hands, and create something delightful.
The Sloth and Snail is a book about contentment, take the slow quiet time crafting together to model contentment. Don’t have a supply? Look around what you have and see if you can substitute something you already own, now that is finding happiness just where you are.
🧶 Supplies You’ll Need:
- printer and template
- Cardstock (white w/color printer, or green, yellow, light green, light yellow)
- scissors
- glue
- green yarn for vine
- eyes (size desired)
- Black Marker
🐌 Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Make the Sloth
Cut out the Sloth Pieces from the Template, And glue together. The light green oval is the face, the small green ovals are the mask for the eyes. Draw on the eys and nose using a marker, Oh and don’t forget a sweet sloth smile!
2. Make the Snail
Create a colorful spiral shell and a simple snail body. The Template makes this easy. Add googly eyes or draw friendly ones with a marker.
3. Build the Vine
Measure out the amount of yarn (vine) x 3 that you want for your space then add a little. Knot one end together and braid loosely.
4. Decorate!
Add paper leaves, flowers, butterflies, let child’s creativity can shine.
