Summer Boredom Buster Series: Paper Crafts Time with Free Printables
The experts say boredom is healthy for kids. I don’t disagree, BUT… those experts don’t face a summer of daily interaction with those bored kids. You do! You’re not alone, I’ve been there, I’m still there. So, I got together with my 10-year-old and and we came up with our top 10 Summer Boredom Buster list. Let me tell you, electronics are nowhere on our list. What is on the list? Creativity, room for your kids to make the ideas their own, and freedom from those dreaded words, “I’m bored!”

Paper Crafts: Fun Face Masks
Remember back before 2020 when masks meant something entirely different? Lets bring the fun back to our kids and let them make a zoo full of paper masks. To get you started I have three mask printable patterns for you in my Free Resource Center! All you have to do is sign up for my newsletter to get access to them plus dozens of more free printables.
So, drag out the heavy paper, I like card stock, but any colored paper will work. Print off the patterns to get your kids started and see what they can do! Younger kids need more direction and help, but older kids often just need basic suggestions and off they go with their own imaginative ideas!
To make the elephant, porcupine, or dragon here is what you’ll need:
Supplies:
- the patterns (and a printer)
- Colored cardstock and regular paper
- bracelet elastic
- stick glue
- scissors
- small hole punch
