My youngest daughter was obsessed with toilet paper roll crafts! I still find them stashed in random craft supply storage, lol. Seriously, kids love paper rolls, whether its recycling a toilet paper roll, or buying them from the craft store, they are always a hit.

Book Pairing: Little Fox’s Day in the Snow

Before you begin crafting, or as a cozy wind-down afterward, read Little Foxy’s Day in the Snow together. Follow a whimsical fox family as they enjoy one of the last snow days of winter — a full day of fun and exploration, ending in a night with a beautiful night light show. While this book makes a great bed time story, it is also a great craft along as the images catch the imagination.

What You’ll Need:

  • printer and template
  • 2 sheets White Cardstock
  • 1 sheet Red Cardstock
  • Toilet paper Roll (optional)
  • scissors
  • glue
  • googly eyes
  • Black marker
  • Optional: Tape, paper clips

Directions on How to Make Your Paper Roll Fox:

  1. Print and carefully cut out the pieces.
  2. Cut one piece of cardstock into 4 in x 8 in. piece. Or big enough to wrap around a toilet paper roll.
  3. Glue the two short sides so they over lap and glue together. (Hold until glue dries, or find something to hold it for you) Or wrap and glue to the toilet paper roll.
  4. Glue on the arms and legs to the tube created with the 4×8 cardstock.
  5. Take the white face piece and glue it to the bottom of the red oval as pictured.
  6. Glue on the two triangle with the smaller pink triangles on the top of the red oval as ears.
  7. Glue on the red triangle with the smaller black triangle as the muzzle, make sure the black triangle is at the top and place it on the top middle of the white piece, to create the face.
  8. Use the black marker to draw on the mouth.
  9. Attach googly eyes.
  10. Glue tail to the back of the tube, so that you can see it when looking at it from the front.
