Poodle Paper Plate Craft for Kids | Free Printable Dog Craft Template

Promotional graphic for the children's book Yes, I'm a Poodle! featuring the book cover alongside three playful paper plate poodle crafts. The crafts include a gray poodle with a blue bow tie, a fluffy white poodle made with cotton balls holding a bone, and a white poodle with a pink background wearing a sparkly pink necklace. Text reads "Book Themed Crafts – Paper Plate Crafts" with the Silly Geese Publishing website at the bottom. Bright coral and white blocks with heart and doodle accents create a cheerful, kid-friendly design.

I love taking a story beyond the pages of a book. When children create, imagine, and build something connected to a story, they have the opportunity to revisit the characters, explore the message, and make meaningful memories along the way.

This simple Craft is the perfect companion activity for Yes, I’m a Poodle!. With just a few simple supplies, children can create their very own paper plate poodle while remembering fun of learning more about poodles.

Whether you are reading at home, adding it to a homeschool unit study, or looking for a fun classroom activity, this poodle craft is sure to bring smiles to every face!

About Yes, I’m a Poodle!

Meet Theo— the Poodle behind the book.

Theo is a working dog, he is service companion to his handler, the author and illustrator of his book. When he is out and about, he garners so much attention, that a book seemed like the perfect answer. While Yes, I’m a Poodle!, isn’t a story book, more of a funny nonfiction and education book all about Poodles. That description might sound a little dull or boring, this book is definitely NOT dull!

Made for ages 3–100+, Yes, I’m a Poodle! is a story that humorous book meant to delight the readers.

This small craft is a fun way for children to connect with the story.

Extend the Learning

Crafts are a wonderful way to help children connect with the books they read. After making your paper plate poodles take some time to talk about the story:

  • What do you remember about the book?
  • What was your favorite part?
  • Did you learn anything?
