12 Days of Christmas Ornaments – Day Seven is Stars

There are so many things you can do with stars it was hard to pick out just the right star for us. I finally decided that you deserved something new. I mean what value am I really bringing if I am just putting up the same stars you can find anywhere on the internet. So here it is, a Felt 3D Star.

I encourage you to make your own variations and to share them me. For example, just off of the top of my head I can picture how beautiful this could be embroidered. I used a hot glue gun because that was my daughter’s vote, and I am trying to keep her engaged. What would you do?

Materials:

  • Felt
  • Template (you can print get mine from my Free Printables Page)
  • Sharp Scissors
  • Pen that will write on Felt
  • Hot glue gun (or glue that will work on felt)
  • Thread to hand

Directions:

Print the template and cute out the size you want to use. Trace it onto the felt 2x and cut out the outside stars. Trim the template down to the smaller inside star and trace it onto the back of your stars. trim along the edges making sure to leave a piece attached at the top and center bottom.

Once cut out glue together the center stars, then the outside stars and twist so that they have a 3D effect. Add some thread to hang.
