12 Days of Christmas Ornaments – Day Eleven How to make a Mini Book Ornament
This project was fun to make, and my daughter got in on the fun in a new way. We made ours together on the computer first then she practically shoved me out of the way and took over.
I think it would be fun to make on for the family and then an individual one for each person. Sadly their is no convincing a teen, either they want to participate or they don’t.
After much debate we named our book “2020 Yearbook” and have made plans to make one each year, maybe even making some for past years.
What You Need:
- Paper
- Printer (optional)
- Decorative Card Stock
- Colored Pencil’s (optional)
- scissors
- Glue Stick
- Thread to hang it.

Directions
If you print off the template, you will cut along the dotted lines and fold on the solid lines. If you don’t want to print it, measure out and cut your paper into even pieces. Fold 3 of the pieces in half, then fold each half in half again, but away from each other, like an accordion. Glue the center fold together and each end piece gets glued to an end piece of another piece. the out end pieces get glued to piece of card stock to make a sturdier cover.
I made a sheet of clipart that can be used to fill in the book. Just cut out the image you want to use and glue it in the book. Alternately let your little artist draw and write something that represents that each month.
Label the front and the back like a real book.
To hang take a long piece of string and tie it around the center of the book, making a knot at the top of the book, then another knot further up the string, as pictured.
